Karloff the Uncanny does it again! Boris Karloff's next huge role after Frankenstein. The film is a little slow moving but you need it at that pace to take in everything. It is a story about reincarnation and a love that lasts for centuries. Even thought the actual mummy is only in the beginning of the film for a couple of minutes, it makes a lasting impression of horror. For the rest of the film Karloff is the mysterious Ardeth Bey. It is a real treat to have two Karloff characters in one film. Edward Van Sloan and David Manners are also in the film. The archiologist that goes insane at the beginning of the movie is played by Bramhall Fletcher who was the husband of Helen Chandler from Dracula fame. What can you say, another Universal masterpiece!
