Unbelievable! Year number 25 is almost here! A major milestone and like I have said many times before, I check the behind the scenes counter and that makes me decide whether or not to continue for another year. So it's you that keeps it going and once again I thank you for your support!  Universal is still putting out new merchandise which is great. I just wish they would keep it to the original likeness of the monsters but the copyright thing is sometimes stopping this from happening. Case in point Universal Studios Florida is building a Universal Monster Island. One part will have like a meet and greet but it will be  a stylized version of the monsters rather than the classic likeness which in my opinion ruins the memory of the monsters. I have seen some of the new merchandise and the Wolfman looks  like a shaggy dog rather than Lon Chaneys Wolfman and as for Dracula I can't count how many versions of the character there has been and rarely is there a Lugosi likeness. I don't know about you but I like the monsters the way I remember them and the way I see them in the movies.  One cool bit of news is the Universal Monster streaming channel. The movies are on a continuous loop and mixes the classic monster movies and a few modern ones. I prefer the classics myself. Until you get the idea of the schedule it is hit or miss on the classics but it is still a good thing to be able to catch these daily rather than wait for weeks to see one unless you have the DVDs.
X Plus next release of their Universal Monster model kits is Bela Lugosi as Dracula. The likeness and detail are definitely there. If it is anything like their Revenge of the Creature model it will be no less than amazing!
An unexpected surprise from Home Depot this year. It is a 7' licensed Universal Monster Frankenstein animatronic figure. It moves and the mouth moves and talks. Here is a short presentation. I am trying to find room in my Universal Room to fit it in.
Iron Studios is releasing another great statue in their Universal Monster line. This time it's Frankenstein. The deluxe version has him in a laboratory setting. A little pricey but worth it. I have mine!
